Celebrating Aleena Mongerie: A Rising Leader in Nursing

We’re proud to celebrate the accomplishments of an extraordinary individual—Aleena Mongerie—who has recently achieved a major academic milestone. Aleena has officially graduated from Kentucky State University with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and is now on the cusp of an even greater accomplishment: completing her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) next month.
Aleena’s journey has been one marked by perseverance, compassion, and an unrelenting commitment to healthcare excellence. Her passion for nursing has always been rooted in her desire to make a difference—not just in individual lives, but within communities that need strong, culturally competent, and forward-thinking healthcare leaders.
During her time at Kentucky State University, Aleena not only excelled academically, but also embraced leadership opportunities, clinical excellence, and mentorship roles among her peers. She has become a role model for many aspiring nurses, demonstrating that with focus and determination, the sky truly is the limit.

Her upcoming DNP milestone is especially significant. The Doctor of Nursing Practice is the highest clinical degree in nursing, equipping healthcare professionals to influence healthcare policy, lead interdisciplinary teams, and improve patient outcomes on a systemic level. As she steps into this next chapter, Aleena is poised to bring transformative change to the field of nursing.
Whether she’s working at the bedside, in administration, or shaping the future of healthcare through advocacy and innovation, Aleena Mongerie is a name we will continue to hear with pride. Her story is a testament to what it means to lead with heart, vision, and purpose.

Congratulations, Aleena! Your community celebrates you—and we can’t wait to see where your journey takes you next. I also want to thank Coach Terrance Slater. None of this would be possible without you 💚
