Taiyanna joined the BYF Sports family in 7th and 8th grade, and even then, it was clear she was something special. Her height, athleticism, and raw potential were impossible to miss—but it was her determination and willingness to grow that truly set her apart. Recognizing her potential, BYF helped Taiyanna transition to Montverde Academy, one of the nation’s premier prep schools for elite athletes.

From there, her journey took a few unexpected turns. Taiyanna initially committed to Ole Miss University out of high school but ultimately began her college career at Trinity Valley Community College. Rather than letting obstacles define her, she used every step as a setup for a greater comeback.

In 2024, Taiyanna’s hard work and resilience were rewarded when she was selected as the 19th overall pick in the WNBA Draft by the Connecticut Sun. She took her talents to the professional stage—and quickly proved she belonged. Most recently, Taiyanna has taken her game international, continuing her professional career in China and gaining valuable global experience.

Her perseverance paid off when she transferred to the University of Kansas. At KU, Taiyanna made her mark—literally. She had a record-breaking season, dominating the court with her shot-blocking, rebounding, and presence in the paint. Her performance earned national attention and solidified her place as one of the top prospects in the country.

Taiyanna’s story is more than just one of athletic achievement—it’s a testament to resilience, growth, and the power of believing in yourself even when the path isn’t linear.
