From Student-Athlete to Criminal Justice Professional: The Inspiring Journey of Tahra Davis

At BYF Sports, we’ve had the privilege of watching many young athletes grow, achieve, and thrive both on and off the field. Few stories exemplify that journey better than that of Tahra Davis.
After high school, Tahra took her talents to Kaskaskia Community College in Illinois, where she earned her Associate Arts degree. Her determination and drive didn’t stop there. She continued her academic journey at Alabama A&M University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Sociology.

Tahra joined BYF Sports in the 9th grade, and it didn’t take long for her to stand out—not just for her athletic prowess, but for her discipline, leadership, and academic excellence. From the beginning, Tahra embodied what BYF is all about: being a strong competitor while maintaining a strong commitment to education and personal growth.
Now, Tahra is putting her education and passion for helping others to work at the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center. Her current role reflects her deep commitment to supporting youth and making a meaningful impact within the justice system.
